Year 3 Visit to Rising Sun Country park - Tuesday 20th November 2018

posted 12 Oct 2018, 04:49 by Linn Hoggins

As part of Year 3 topic this term on Shelters and the Stone Age Year 3 are planning a trip to the Rising Sun Country Park on Tuesday 20th November 2018.

We will travel by coach and leave school  at 9.15am returning by 2.45pm.  We realise it may be cold and wet so we must ensure all children are wearing sturdy shoes and waterproof clothing.

We will be working with the wardens there and building dens in the woodland area and baking bread by the Celtic hut.  To cover the cost of this visit and the bus we need to ask for a voluntary contribution of £9.50.

Children will need to bring a nut free packed lunch with a drink that has a sports cap top lid.  If children receive free school meals a grab bag will be provided.

If you would like to accompany us on the trip, please complete the online booking form below and we will let you know if a space is available.

Year 4 visit to Hindu Temple - Wednesday 21st November 2018

posted 10 Oct 2018, 03:18 by Linn Hoggins

As part of our Religious Education this term, we have been studying the Hindu faith.  Therefore, we have been very fortunate in being invited to visit the Hindu Temple in Newcastle on Wednesday 21st November 2018.  We will leave school at 10.00 am and return at approximately 2.15 pm.

This is a unique opportunity to enhance our understanding of a different faith and experience first hand how Hindu people worship, celebrate and conduct their daily lives.

The children will have lunch whilst at the temple and therefore will NOT require a packed lunch.  The meal will consist of rices, naan breads and a mild tomato and cheese based curry.  This will be followed by ice-cream and a drink.  (The children visiting the temple last year thought the meal was delicious!).

One of the activities the children will be taking part in is face painting.  The products used are all water based.

The children will be travelling by coach and a voluntary contribution of £9.00 would be appreciated to cover the cost of the coach, the activities and lunch at the temple.

Please complete the online permission form below.

Thank you
