We are celebrating reading again this year by having a Book Week.  It will take place from 2nd – 6th  March. There will be lots of exciting events taking place all week. The book fair will be open Monday to Thursday, after school, in the Community Room until 4pm.

Children will be given a £1 book voucher to celebrate World Book Day which can be spent at the book fair or exchanged for a free World Book Day book.
We will be having a book sale all week so if you have any old books, you would like to donate, can you please send them into school? We would like to raise £500 from this to subsidise the author visits this week. We will be charging 50p a book or 3 for £1.

On Monday we will be visited by Liz Million a local author who will work with groups of children across the school.

On Tuesday we will be visited by Seven Stories who will take interactive reading sessions with all classes.

On Wednesday some classes will visit North Shields Library.

On Thursday to celebrate World Book Day -
•    Children can come dressed up as their favourite character from a book.
•    Some children will visit North Shields Library.
•    There will be a coffee afternoon after school.

On Friday years 5 & 6 will visit the City Hall to take part in a reading event ‘The Biggest Book Show on Earth.’ The author/story teller Andy Seed will visit school and will be working with Years  3 & 4.

There will be book related activities happening in class all week. We are really looking forward to these exciting events.
Thank you for your support.
