Dear Year 6 Parent

During their time at King Edward we hope that every child will take the opportunity to come with us on an exciting weekend adventure at High Borrans in the Lake District. These have always been a great success with children enjoying themselves and being thrilled at achieving new things. In this weekend’s case, as many of the children may have been before, we will aim to build on their previous experiences with different activities to those they have tried before. We will also include ones that encourage their thinking and cooperation skills and build their confidence. We hope that children who have not been before will take the opportunity to do so too.

This course may include:

…Mountain and Hill walking….Climbing….Ghyll scrambling….Canoeing….Orienteering….Caving

This weekend course can include some strenuous activities and can therefore be physically quite demanding. The children are also expected to help out around the centre and to take responsibility for their belongings. Please discuss this with your child fully before putting their name forward.

The cost of the weekend will be approximately £195.00.

If you would like your child to be given the opportunity to attend this course please complete the online application form below by Tuesday 20th September 2016 (paper applications are available from the school office).

Course members will be drawn in accordance with the High Borrans protocol (click on the link below) for selection.

If your child is successful in their application for this course, you will be notified by letter.

Yours faithfully

Alan Henderson
