How well do our children perform

National performance data for all schools was published in Autumn 2017.  We are delighted to learn that data for our school shows that at King Edward Primary, our children make outstanding progress.  Our children make progress which is significantly better than national average progress between Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.  We are one of only 5 schools in North Tyneside to make outstanding progress in reading, writing and maths between Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2!  Progress in some areas is in the top 5% nationally.

Our outcomes at Early Years Foundation Stage and in the Year 1 phonics check are also outstanding, alongside Key Stage 1 children making very strong progress overall from the end of Early Years Foundation Stage to the end of Key Stage 1!

Attendance of our pupils is also outstanding and in the top 10% of all schools nationally.  We have the joint highest attendance of all primary, first and middle schools in North Tyneside.

This confirms our continued trend of strong outcomes for our children.

Our KS2 SATs results for 2015 were also strong given the different starting points for each year group of our children, and the varying needs of our children from year group to year group.  The percentage of our children who achieved expected progress in 2015 was above National average (NA) for reading, writing and maths.  The percentage of our children who exceeded expected rates of progress was outstanding for reading and maths, being significantly above the NA.

In December 2014 we learnt that our Year 6 children made more progress between Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 than any other primary school in North Tyneside and that meant our Key Stage 2 outcomes were the second strongest in the whole North East region.  As a result Miss Byrne received a letter from the Minister for Education, please click on the link (Letter from Minister for Education) which informed us that our fantastic performance meant that our school was ranked within the top 100 schools nationally for pupils progress.  This letter and ranking recognised the outstanding efforts that continue to be made by all of the school staff and children to achieve this.

Our children work exceptionally hard and are well supported by our dedicated team of staff.  We aim to ensure that each child achieves or exceeds their starting point, whatever that may be, so that each and every one of our children achieve their potential by the end of their learning journey with us.

The level of a child's attainment at the end of Key Stage Two is important. However, of greater significance is the progress each individual child makes as they progress through our school.  Click on the links to see how well our children attain at the end of Year 6.  We are incredibly proud of the excellent rates of progress our children are making in school compared to the rate of progress children are expected to make nationally.
